  On March 21st, Juanita and I went over to Harlow's house in order to film scenes six and seven. These were all of our outside scenes, in which both Harlow and Juanita were acting in. This meant that I was the one that filmed both of these scenes. When filming these scenes we realized that there were many shots that we had to change in order to fit into the vision that we had for our title sequence. One of these shots that we changed was the establishing shot at the beginning of scene six. In this shot we originally intended for the daughter to be seen walking in it but instead we filmed it with the neighbor gardening in the background instead. In the second shot, we also intended to have the daughter walk with her head down and more fast paced during this shot however, we decided to change this to the girl stumbling instead. We did this in order to show that the stumbling is what made the neighbor realize that the daughter was there in the first place and attracted the attention ...

    On Thursday, March 18, Harlow, Juanita and I got together over google meets to edit. We did run into a problem when it came the scheduling of the meeting. We were gonna meet right after school, which was when I was available, but since Harlow couldn't meet we had to postpone it to later in the day. However, I had plans later in the day so Harlow and Juanita had to start editing without me. Later on, when I finished and got back home, I joined and did some editing as well. When Harlow was editing, something that we had trouble with was exporting the videos. Harlow tried to email them to herself first but the files kept failing. Because of this she had to export them from her phone directly to her computer. This, however, took a rather long time and was the reason that Harlow couldn't attend the original timing of the google meets in the beginning.     Since I was unable to edit the beginning with Harlow and Juanita, I instead edited scene 5 on my own.       During this past weekend, March 13-14, our original plan was to go to Harlow's house and film all the scenes in which the mother of the story would appear in. We previously had not been able to film this scene due to the actor, Harlow's mom, not being available and not having enough time to work with us. This past weekend she was available and so our plan was to make use of this time and film the scenes that she was in while we still had the chance. However, as the weekend came up, we realized that our schedules, the schedules of Juanita and I, would not allow for us to be able to meet up this weekend. On Saturday both of my parents were out running errands/working so I had to babysit my sister, which meant I would not be able to film. On Sunday, I had a volleyball tournament which would've lasted up till around 4 or 5 pm, and by that time it would be too late to film due to us not having enough time.    This past weekend, on March 6, we go together, and as mentioned in the past blog filmed some of the scenes we needed for our final task. However, since we were limited on the scenes we could film due to the unavailability of some actors, we decided to use this time wisely and do other things as well, other then film. For one, we rehearsed future scenes that we knew would need a couple takes to get right. We felt that rehearsing these scenes would make the process run much smoother on the day we actually filmed the scene. One of the scenes we rehearsed was the scene in which the daughter has a conversation with her neighbor. We wanted to rehearse this scene in particular because this scene is the scene that contains the most dialogue out of the entire project, so we knew it would do us some good if we already started practicing and memorizing some of the lines.   On Saturday, March 6, we started our production process. Juanita and I went over to Harlow's house in order for us to film the necessary scenes since that is the main location of our opening sequence. We were limited on the scenes we could film that day due to whether conditions. It was raining pretty heavily which meant we would not be able to film any outdoor scenes. Not only this but one of our actors, the actor for the mother in the film, was unavailable, which meant we wouldn't be able to film any scenes that included her in it either. Due to these circumstances, we were only able to film scenes 8 and 9.     Scene 8 was the scene in which the daughter stepped into the house and ran up the stairs. We had some difficulty at first when trying to film the scene because we weren't sure of how we wanted the daughter to walk in and go up the stairs while still maintaining covid guidelines while off screen.       This week, the week of 03/01/21, we were, unfortunately, unable to meet-up to begin the filming part of our production process.  This was mainly due to scheduling reasons, with many of us having overlapping schedules, especially during the weekdays. To begin, we all have school to attend during the morning and part of the afternoon. This already limits the time we would have available during the weekdays. To add on, on this particular week, multiple of us had tests to study for. Harlow had a Chemistry test and I had both a Pre-Calculus test and an English test. This limited the time we had after-school even more than before. Not only this but some of us had extracurriculars after-school that would’ve interrupted our meeting time. I, for one, have volleyball practices later in the day, which would’ve caused me to have to leave early if we had ended up meeting up.   The storyboard process is important to the planning process, because it allows us to get an idea of what the film will look like in a visual format. As a result we will be able to plan better, and by storyboarding the process, we won’t have to research and try to picture each scene or how it will look. We will have our entire opening sequence laid out in front of us. This will allow us to save time as well, letting us use our time for editing or revisions instead. Additionally, if there are any last minute cancellations or if we are in a time crunch, we will have our opening sequence laid out and ready to go so that we can immediately start filming once everything is set up.
